丸岡が長年取り組んできた植木鉢やぐい呑、オブジェなどの陶器に今回は絵付けを施し表現を拡張しています。50点以上に及ぶ新作セラミック作品をご堪能ください。
この度、KOMIYAMA TOKYO Gでは、丸岡和吾による個展『SKULLPTURE』を開催いたします。
丸岡がこれまで取り組んできた植木鉢やぐい呑、オブジェなど髑髏（どくろ）を象った陶器に、今回は絵付けという新たな要素を加え、表現の幅を広げました。
新作では、「日日是好日」「メメント・モリ」「無」といった語句や図形、そして花のモチーフが器表に描かれ、丸岡の探求するテーマと共鳴します。
これまでのスタイルを起点に、より多層的に展開される本展の作品群を、ぜひご高覧ください。

プロフィール
丸岡和吾
1978年広島県生まれ。死をテーマとし髑髏（どくろ）を象った陶器やグラフィックを中心に制作。
いずれも洗練された手作業によって作られている。2020年に世界的なヘヴィ・ロックバンドBORISのアルバムジャケットにオリジナルロゴを提供。
また、本展の開催を記念し、ソフビ「デススケ/ DEATHSKELETON」を販売いたします。

PROFILE
KAZUMICHI MARUOKA
Kazumichi Maruoka [Hiroshima 1978-] works mainly with ceramics and graphic design, often using skull motifs as a central element in his work to reflect themes of death. All pieces are created with sophisticated handwork. In 2020, he provided an original logo design for the album artwork of Boris, a heavy rock band known internationally.Kazumichi Maruoka, who has previously focused on crafting skull-shaped ceramic works such as tea cups, flower pots, sake cups, and sculptural objects, has now expanded the breadth of his artistic expression by incorporating a new element: painted.
